Two printed letters intended to to attract returning soldiers from the Boer War to emigrate to Canada. The main letter is from W T R Preston, Commissioner of Emigration at the Canadian High Commission in London. It takes the form of a folded sheet made to look like a type-written and signed letter, with the enclosure of a more obviously printed letter from Sir Alfred Jones (Elder, Dempster & Co) of cheap passages from Liverpool to Canada on his Beaver Line of steamers. These were found folded in three inside a book, and apart from slight bumping (and a tiny tear at the end of a fold) on the Beaver Line sheet, they are in excellent condition.
